Sued for damages.Defending lawyer
Asked him “Did you or did you not say
At the time of accident that you were
Not hurt?” Plaintiff said “I did, but it
Was in an altogether different situation.
I was going in my horse carriage. This
Car, even before I could see, came and
Dashed against my carriage, knocking
It into the ditch. My horse and myself
Lay flat on our backs and our legs were
Floating in the air. This motorist seeing
The horse had broken its legs, pulls out
A gun and shoots it dead .Then he turns
To me and shouts ”Are you wounded?”
What could I tell him then in reply, Sir”
